Earlier this month, the Frazetta Art Museum had the distinct pleasure of attending the Pagoda City Tattoo Convention in Morgantown, PA. This marked our first appearance at a tattoo convention, and the experience was both unique and exhilarating. The atmosphere was a refreshing change from the comic and toy conventions we typically attend.
In a delightful turn of events, the museum was given an entire conference room to utilize. We transformed it into a dynamic mobile museum, adorned with more products than we had ever brought to a convention. Among the highlights were eleven original pieces, including a Snow Man comic page, a Fire and Ice pencil drawing, and two exquisite watercolors. We also showcased Frazetta's Living Legend for the first time, which quickly became a crowd favorite. To our delight, two of our Master's Collection pieces found new homes, and we rolled up numerous Vintage Prints for eager attendees to take home.
One of the most memorable aspects of the convention was the panel I was asked to host. This was my first time leading a panel, and I must admit I was a bit nervous about the turnout, especially given the early morning slot. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the enthusiastic attendance of a room full of artists. We even had to scramble for additional chairs to accommodate everyone! If you were there and are reading this, thank you for your support. I hope you found the panel informative and enjoyed the Q&A session as much as I did.
Overall, our experience at the Pagoda City Tattoo Convention was incredibly rewarding. It was wonderful to engage with a new audience and see the appreciation for Frazetta's work in a different context. We look forward to future opportunities to share the magic of the Frazetta Art Museum with even more art enthusiasts.
Warm regards,
